Episode 104 - Happy Birthday To Us Updated: 2008-09-05 21:00:00 Description: BrewCast-BeerNews Beers of the Week: Happy birthday to us. We're celebrating being two years old this show. It's been a fun two years and we hope to have at least a few more. Thanks for your support. Brian brought beer from the Estes Park Brewery. We tried three of them this show. Stanley Redrum Ale: If you have ever read or seen Steven King's The Shining, you get the joke. The beer is well balanced with a slightly roast malt opening and a grapefruit hop finish, possibly cascade.We found this to be the best of the three. Porter: Dark roasted malt with a coffee flavor, slight hop finish. Overall well balanced. Good example of the style, but nothing over the top. Samson Stout: This one was a bit odd. Flavors of coffee similar to the porter but with a lighter mouth feel. After the porter the stout felt watered down which seemed out of style for the beer.
