NetSuite Exec on Development Opportunities
Updated: 2010-06-24 21:44:02
Description: NetSuite is a pioneering software-as-a-service ecommerce platform. The company was launched in 1998 as NetLedger, an accounting package. It later changed to NetSuite, developed an ecommerce component, and then sold common stock to the public. Fast forward to 2010 and NetSuite is a $166 million (revenue), publicly-traded (NYSE: N), multinational, all-in-one powerhouse. The company recently launched SuiteCloud, an offering that allows developers to write applications for the platform. The applications, called SuiteApps, supplement the underlying SaaS offering and developers can sell them on SuiteApp.com. The code is a proprietary, JavaScript-like language called SuiteScript. We spoke recently with Darayush Mistry, NetSuite's senior director of product management, about SuiteCloud, SuiteApps and development opportunities for that platform.
