The Environment and Autism Updated: 2008-11-08 08:38:44 Description: Some people have a misconception about the environment and how it relates to autism. By this I mean that many are not aware of how extensive the concept of "environment" is in relation to the disorder. When we think about the environment we think about the air we breathe, the toxins in the air, and pesticides that may affect all human life in some way. What we don't think about is the accumulative categories that make up our "environment" in relationship to autism. It is important for future mothers to think more about the environment, do further research, and better understand the affect of the environment before, during, and after birth.
