Up a Paddle - Episode 63 - The Eighties Club (Not the Breakfast One)
Updated: 2009-04-01 02:05:00
Description: For this episode I decided to record a homage (read: blatantly rip off) of the I Luv the 80s podcast by doing my own 80s related show, because it's the smurfy thing to do. Watch the video below for more information on the Smurfs and Smurfs related video games of the 80. Smurfs: Rescue In Gargamel's Castle. This game is unanimously considered to be the best video game of all time by game historians. So I dusted off an old recording from when I was still in diapers and play it for you to listen to with your ears. Apparently, I reviewed Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, which was totally excellent and righteous. I talk about some news stories but I have misplaced the links for some of them so I'll edit this post at a later date. I also review an anime from the 80's that creeped the hell out of me, with a name that roughly translates to "The Lurking Horror". Please don't click on the aforementioned link until you have heard the review and have properly prepared yourself, both mentally and spiritually, for the horror that awaits. The review itself may be a little rambly and nonsensical, but that is only due to the psychological scars that the anime inflicted on me as a kid. Rest assured, I will ensure that this cycle of forcing children to watch these cruel and frightening shows will continue with my nephkids when they are born (don't know the gender yet). There's some other stuff in the podcast, but I kinda drifted in and out when recording so I can't recall off hand what it may be. Oh yeah, I played a promo for the Hello Kitty Island Adventure podcast and one for myself. Please note that some of the clips I included in my promo may have been taken slightly out of context. Nevertheless, you should harass the podcasters that those said clips originated from. So I also played the song King of Kong by Tvs Kyle. If you want to contact me you can email me at upapaddle@gmail.com, go to http://upapaddle.com or even follow my twitter at http://twitter.com/upapaddle. If you are feeling especially rambunctious, you can leave a review in the iTunes directory or even send me in content. If you are looking to lower the standards of your own podcast (if you have one), contact me and I may be able to send you some content. Oh yeah, the trivia question for this episode was "which movie had the phrase "His elevens are up" and what does it mean? No fair using Google. Thanks for listening!
